The KUVEE Difference

A guide who works for your palate — not a portfolio.

Most tasting rooms pour a fixed lineup of club wines they’re trying to sell you. Craig has nothing to sell. Like a fee-only advisor, his only job is to put the best possible glass in front of you for the money — the highest quality-for-price wines on the shelf, wherever they come from — and teach you to find them again yourself.

The Typical Tasting Room

  • Pours a fixed portfolio of club wines it’s trying to sell
  • Every incentive to move its own inventory
  • The same list, visit after visit
  • You taste what they happen to stock

The KUVEE Way

  • Curates the best-value wines from the entire retail shelf
  • No inventory, nothing to sell — the only goal is the best glass for your money
  • Ever-changing — always the current best values, so no two flights are alike
  • You taste what earns it — and can re-buy every bottle yourself at retail

Behind every experience: four decades of palate, accelerated by AI. As a Certified AI Generalist, Craig brings today’s best tools to curating each lineup, personalizing the learning, and keeping every tasting fresh and current — an independent selection chosen purely on merit, never to sell you a bottle.

Let KUVEE help you discover your palate — and the world of wine.

Meet Craig Harclerode

Not a classroom.
A life well poured.

Wine Educator · Event Host · Travel Guide · Katy, Texas

Hi, I'm Craig Harclerode — a Rice University MBA graduate, longtime energy industry executive, and someone who has spent 40+ years deeply immersed in the world of wine. My journey took me to Healdsburg, California for 12 years — right in the heart of Sonoma wine country with Napa Valley just down the road.

I've walked the rows in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Champagne, tasted across New Zealand's North and South Islands, descended into candlelit cellars in Tokaj, Hungary, and followed the Rhine through Germany. I've stood in the Lavaux vineyards above Lake Geneva in Switzerland and explored the wine villages of Croatia's Dalmatian Coast.

"My education didn't stop at the WSET Level 3 certificate — it continued in every cellar, vineyard, and dinner table I was lucky enough to sit at." — Craig Harclerode

Now rooted in Katy, Texas, I bring all of that to you. The same professional rigor from my business career — applied entirely to wine. This isn't a generic class. It's a personal conversation with someone who has genuinely lived this world.

I’m also a Certified AI Generalist — I bring modern AI into the KUVEE experience to accelerate and enrich every part of it: deeper, more personalized education, sharper tasting insight, and smarter travel planning. Four decades of palate, accelerated by today’s best tools — so you get more discovery in every glass.

KUVEE Signature Experience

Country/Region Tastings:
One Country, Many Expressions.

Take your palate on a passport tour. Craig guides your group through the signature grapes of a single wine country — poured from the exact regions that made them famous — revealing how one nation can produce everything from bone-dry, racy whites to sun-soaked, full-bodied reds. A guided journey across the whites and reds that define a place — four wines, or a deeper six-wine dive.

How It Works

1

Choose Your Country

Pick a wine country — from Australia and New Zealand to a build-your-own tour of the United States, plus France, Italy, Spain, and Germany.

2

Get Your Shopping List

Craig hand-picks the current best-value bottles from that country’s benchmark regions — chosen from the entire retail shelf, not a fixed portfolio — and sends the host a simple shopping list for Total Wine or Spec’s. The lineup evolves as better values appear.

3

Host the Experience

2-hour session at your home OR a private venue (country club, etc.). 4–8 guests (host complimentary), all 21+ with valid ID.

The Blend Lab:
Your Vintage.

You’re the winemaker today — at your home or a private venue of your choice. Gather friends around your table while Craig guides your group through the components of a classic wine blend. Each guest builds their own signature creation, then everyone shares, tastes, and discusses the results together. Choose from eight curated blend experiences — four whites, four reds — each designed around a classic wine region or style.

“Raymond in 2021 lit the spark. Many blends since then taught me my palate. Today, we’ll help you find yours.”

— Craig Harclerode
The Origin Story

Napa lit the spark. Years of blending sharpened the craft.

In 2021 at Raymond Vineyards, Craig blended his first Bordeaux-style red. That day lit something — but it was the many blending experiences in the years that followed, across grapes and regions, that really taught him how wines come together, how to read his own palate, and how much fun the process actually is.

Now Craig brings that technique to you — a guided path to learning your own palate, understanding what makes a great blend, and discovering wine on a whole new level.

At Every Table

Your custom KUVEE blending placemat.

KUVEE Blend Lab placemat and blend stocks mat

Every guest works on a professionally designed, theme-specific placemat — glass stations for your component “stocks,” a trial worksheet to record each recipe by the numbers, and space to name and score your favorite blend.

Virtual Signature Tastings:
Meet the Maker.

Sit at the table while the person who made the wine pours it with you — live. A hand-picked boutique winery from Napa or Healdsburg ships their signature bottles; Craig sets the scene at a private residence right here in Katy; and you taste each wine in real time, face to face with the winemaker over a private video link. It’s the closest thing to standing in their cellar — without leaving Texas.

No tasting-room counter. No script. Just you, a curated flight, and the winemaker’s own story — told live, glass in hand.

How It Works

1

Choose a Signature Winery

Pick from up to five hand-selected partner wineries in Napa Valley & Healdsburg.

2

The Winery Ships the Wine

Your featured winery sends their signature bottles straight to Craig — nothing for you to source.

3

Gather at a Private Residence

Craig provides the venue, stemware, and the live video link. You just bring the guests.

4

Taste Live with the Winemaker

Sip each pour as the maker walks you through it — vineyard, craft, and the story behind every bottle, in real time.

5

Discover & Join

Love what you tasted? Join the winery’s wine club or order your favorites on the spot.

Cheese Pairings:
The Perfect Companion.

Wine rarely tastes better than it does beside the right cheese. Add a curated artisan cheese pairing to any KUVEE tasting and let the two play off each other — a tannic Cabernet softened by an aged cheddar, a bright Sauvignon Blanc sharpened by fresh chèvre. Every flight is hand-matched to the wines you’ll pour, and sourced from one of Houston’s most beloved cheese counters.

We’ll do our best to match the cheese to the moment — whether it’s a varietal deep-dive or a country & region journey.

How It Works

1

Choose Your Tasting

Add a cheese pairing to any KUVEE experience — a country or region journey, a varietal deep-dive, or the Blend Lab.

2

We Match the Cheeses

Craig curates a flight of artisan cheeses chosen to echo the wines you’ll pour — Rhône with a washed rind, Sonoma Pinot with a bloomy Brie.

3

Sourced from Houston Dairymaids

Each cheese is hand-selected from Houston Dairymaids’ celebrated counter of 150+ artisan cheeses from Texas and beyond.

4

Taste Them Together

Discover how the right cheese can lift a wine — and how the right wine can transform a cheese. The pairing becomes part of the lesson.

Our Cheese Partner

A Houston institution on Airline Drive, Houston Dairymaids curates more than 150 artisan cheeses — naturally made by hand, and whenever possible from unpasteurized milk. They know the cheesemakers personally, visiting Texas farms to understand the people and craft behind every wheel. From Mozzarella Company to Pure Luck Dairy, it’s the kind of counter where every cheese has a story — a perfect match for a KUVEE tasting.

Wine Education

Not your average wine class.

Texas Wine School teaches wine. Wine bars pour it. What I offer is different — a deeply personal, story-driven education built on 40 years of lived experience, formal WSET training, a Rice MBA, and a genuine love of sharing what I know.

Every session is calibrated to you — your palate, your curiosity, your pace. Whether you're picking up a glass for the first time or preparing for your own WSET certification, I meet you exactly where you are.
